Mural backdrop for the set of MASTERCLASS x Robin Arzon! — I have been riding a PELOTON bike since 2017. It has been a massive game changer for me in so many ways, not only for exercise and fitness, but for providing balance to my creative practice, and perspective for my work. One of my favorite instructors is @RobinNYC. I love her because she brings this amazing combination of swagger, hustle, motivation and entertainment to the ride. Her classes are BRUTAL and make me sweat my ass off. And the leave me feeling confident, not only about myself physically, but about my creativity, my ideas, and my work. Robin has been a huge influence in my art and murals and you’ve probably seen pieces that I have done that have been inspired by her and her classes. A few years ago, I was finishing up my SHE CAN mural on Mott street, and this guy approached me saying his wife was on the way and they loved my work and wanted to do a little photoshoot in front of my wall. Next thing I know, Robin is standing in front of me, saying she likes my work, and I was like, “oh heyyyy I love you and your Peloton classes!” So when the opportunity arose for me to design and paint this mural for Robins Masterclass, I felt like it was meant to be. “YES, I would ONE HUNDRED PERCENT love to do the mural for her class,” I said. The set was meant to look and feel like a Brooklyn warehouse. I was asked to generate ideas for words or phrases that would work for this mural. I already knew the perfect word, and if you are familiar with Robin, you know this was the only way to go… Sooo… presenting my HUSTLE mural for the set of the one and only ROBIN ARZON and her MASTERCLASS! I’m so overjoyed to have created this for you, @robinnyc , and I appreciate all the inspiration and motivation you bring to me and my creative practice, through hustle and movement.
