20 years ago today I was in a sculpture class in Utah, trying figure out how to glue foam core together, and all of a sudden a commotion came over the room and the boxy cube of a TV was turned on to learn that a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center. I didn’t know how close WTC was to Columbia, where my sister was in school, but quickly received word that she was safe and sound, but that the city was mayhem. At that moment no one knew what was happening, let alone what was to come… 1 year later I moved to NYC and visited the WTC site which looked more a battleground. My sister and I walked around the bridges and walkways built to navigate the rubble which was still very much there, slowly being picked apart and hauled off. The ground was still smoldering. It had been a year. A year… I moved to NYC to be an artist. NYC was the most magical place I had ever been it had magnetically drawn me in since the moment I set foot here at age 16. It was my home. My real home, and I could feel it in my blood from that first moment being here. So when I think back on these memories, feel overwhelmed with emotion. I have such a special place in my heart for this city and everything it means to me… We all do. We all have our own story. And all of those there that day have theirs too, more importantly, and I want to send love to all of you, especially those who lost loved ones. My heart is with you all today… —— I’ve contributed this piece titled NEVER FORGET to an NFT charity auction with @epikprime_official. Net proceeds will be donated to @911day - a non-profit dedicated to turning these memories into a worldwide day of unity and spreading love. And I am so honored to be a part of it… LINK IN BIO. I LOVE YOU ALL. —
