HAPPY JUNETEENTH! ✊πŸŸ₯🟩🟧⬛️ I didn’t know much about Juneteenth until recently, I’ll admit. I grew up being taught that July 4th meant freedom and I assumed that meant for everyone. I loved the fireworks- still do- and the barbecues and parades. Now it doesn’t quite seem right. I’m thankful for recent events sparking my interest in better understanding what really happened in history, and like I always do, I asked google. And guess what. Easy as pie, there is a website Juneteenth.com which is super informative and I read all about it. Honestly there is no excuse for not knowing what this day means, so I encourage you to do some reading. ——- Happy Juneteenth to all of you and to my white friends, join me today in reflecting on what freedom really means. πŸŽ‡ πŸ’₯πŸ’«
