Pride to me is being fierce and confident about who you are deep down, and allowing yourself to thrive. It doesn’t matter what the world thinks, it doesn’t matter what society says. It’s YOU. It’s all about being thrilled with who YOU are.🐯 My sister is no longer with us but she was a proud part of the LGBTQ+ community and she fought fiercely to be accepted for who she was. We were raised in a very conservative environment and family, and she overcame so much fear and anxiety on a daily basis just to be herself. I’m proud of her for the courage it took to be herself. But the truth is, in a perfect world, maybe courage wouldn’t be required for someone just to be themselves. And I guess that’s a big part of what we are working towards. I hope to be a consistent and ongoing ally to all of you who may relate to my sister and her challenges, and I stand by you in your PRIDE. 🏳️🌈 HAPPY PRIDE MONTH family. Be proud, be fierce, be you.
